As per Bain & Company, India has close to 190 Million online shoppers as of 2021 and e-retail has a size of 40 Bn USD as of 2021. Key players in this segment are Amazon & Flipkart. Mobile and electronics are the most penetrated in this channel, followed by fashion and general merchandise. Grocery penetration in this segment remains low.

India is witnessing a rise in D2C brands across categories and is expected to become a USD 100 Bn addressable market by 2025 as per Avendus. 600+ D2C brands have been launched in India since 2016. Fashion and accessories are poised to have a total addressable market of USD 43 Bn, followed by Consumer electronics (USD 31 Bn) and Online FMCG (USD 21 Bn) by 2025 as per Inc 42 reports.
